Where to sleep in Kuala Lumpur the first time: the city centre 😍

This area is not only home to the world’s tallest twin buildings, a shopping mall and office buildings, but also several amazing KL hotels! In this district, you’ll also find a large park and a mosque, open to all.

I highly recommend this area if you want to be at the centre of the tourist destination, surrounded by great restaurants, shops and nightlife. If you think this is the area for you, here are the best hotels in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) that I recommend:

Cheap places to stay in Kuala Lumpur: Chinatown

NOTE: Unfortunately, being such an affordable area, there are no luxury hotels in Chinatown. But if you’re looking for even cheaper accommodation, I’d recommend checking out Little India!

Best hotels near Kuala Lumpur airport

These days, most flights come and go at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL/KLIA), where most Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia international flights arrive.

But there is also another airport in the city, which operates on a smaller scale – Subang Airport/ Skypark Terminal (SZB) where only Terminal 3 is used for domestic Malaysian services and short-haul services to Thailand and Indonesia.

My hotel selection below is based on both airports for your convenience. So, without further ado, here are the best Kuala Lumpur airport hotels I recommend:

Kuala Lumpur Airport (KUL)

❤️ (Upscale hotel) Movenpick Hotel & Convention Center KLIA is the ultimate luxury and 5-star option in the region, with 2 convention halls, a ballroom, 17 meeting rooms and more!
(Best value) Sama Sama Hotel KLIA is your best option for a mid-priced airport hotel; all rooms and suites are brightly decorated and equipped with flat-screen TVs and minibars.

(Cheap) Capsule Transit KLIA 2 (Airside) is an excellent budget accommodation option close to the KLIA, just 2.4 km from it! It has rooms available on a 6-hour or 12-hour basis.

Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (SZB)

(Upscale hotel) The New World Petaling Jaya is an excellent 5-star establishment offering guests 2 swimming pools, a fitness centre and much more. In addition, it is only 5.8 km from the airport and awaits you with excellent service and is also close to a shopping mall.

❤️ (Best value) Acappella Suite Hotel, Shah Alam is a beautiful, modern and stylish mid-priced hotel near the airport that has an infinity pool, fitness centre, private parking and more.

(Cheap) U3 HOTEL has a wide range of rooms available, so some rooms are perfect for cheap accommodation.
