Where to stay in Dubai the first time: the city centre
The city centre is one of the best areas to stay in Dubai. If you don’t mind living high up, then I highly recommend putting your bags down in this neighbourhood.
The city centre is home to some of the world’s tallest towers, including the famous Burj Khalifa. At 828 metres, it is quite simply the tallest tower ever built.
There are also plenty of things to do in the area. If you’re coming to Dubai as a family, I’d recommend exploring the city’s souk, aquarium and underwater zoo. The little ones would certainly enjoy such experiences.
Finally, the other good reason to live in downtown Dubai is that you’ll be right in the middle of all the attractions. Better still, you won’t have to take the car or the metro to go shopping, for example. I would still advise you to make a reservation in advance, as the area is very popular.

Jumeihra, to sleep next to the beach in Dubai
If you’re coming to Dubai to spend an unforgettable summer, then I really recommend putting your bags down in Jumeihra. Sleeping in this district gives you the chance to enjoy an exceptional view of the sea and the blue skies of Dubai. The scenery here is absolutely heavenly. All along the sea, you can admire sumptuous villas and hotels.
Given that it’s often very hot in Dubai (50 degrees on average), staying close to the beaches would be a real treat! Every morning, you can stroll along the magnificent sands of the many beaches in Jumeihra.
Finally, I’d also advise you to look for accommodation here for its famous beach clubs, bars and restaurants. So, choose Jumeihra, to live like a prince of the United Arab Emirates.

The Palm, Dubai’s place to stay for couples
If you’re coming to Dubai for a romantic road-trip, then The Palm is the ideal neighbourhood for you. Indeed, the men who built this city have shown an incredible ability to defy nature.
The Palm is literally an island built by the people of Dubai. You’ll see magnificent skyscrapers standing on the water. The Palm is also home to some of the city’s most famous properties, including the Atlantis, the Fairmont and the Astoria.
What’s more, the Palm is the ideal place to enjoy breathtaking views over Dubai. On the plus side, there are plenty of shopping outlets, as well as boats for a unique outdoor experience with your loved one. However, as one of the city’s most sought-after districts, it’s worth noting that accommodation prices are likely to be very expensive.

Dubai Marina, another paradise on earth
I really recommend that you also set foot in the Dubai Marina district. It’s worth noting that this district contains almost a hundred towers.
The Dubai Marina district also offers you the best options for an unforgettable night out in Dubai. The city’s most popular nightclubs are located here. So if you’re coming to Dubai to party, the Marina is at the top of your list.
Located close to Jumeihra, the Dubai Marina district also gives you the chance to try your hand at a number of activities, including jet skiing, a romantic stroll on the beach or a mini boat cruise.

Where to stay in Dubai if you’re interested in the city’s history?
Bur Dubai is home to the City of Gold Museum. So it’s clearly the ideal place to stay if you’re interested in Dubai’s history. You’ll be able to learn all about Dubai’s meteoric rise to overtake the administrative capital Abu Dhabi.
As well as being a historic district, Bur Dubai is also a very attractive place to visit. You’ll find plenty of restaurants and shops to satisfy your shopping desires. I’d also advise you to experience the wonders of a short boat cruise around the creek. It’s an opportunity to enjoy evenings that are both hot and trendy.

Deira, the old quarter where to stay in Dubai
I recommend this district for accommodation in Dubai if you are more attracted by a calm and soothing environment.
In fact, Dubai’s old quarter takes you into an attractive world combining modernity and tradition. On the other hand, if you have a very tight budget for a stay in Dubai, then Deira is the perfect place for you.
You can also fall in love with the district’s small, beautifully tangled streets.
Last but not least, the restaurants here offer delicious food at very affordable prices. In the district’s many shops, you can pick up rare items that will make a great souvenir of your visit to Dubai.

Sleep in Dubai’s media district
The second district I suggest you put on your list is Media City. Quite simply, this is the district where you’ll find the city’s biggest media channels and press outlets. Media City is located in the south of Dubai.
As well as being the media capital of Dubai, this district is also a prime tourist area. In fact, Media City is where you’ll find the city’s best restaurants and bars. Many tourists come here to discover the delights of Arab cuisine: shawarma, Lebanese mezze, hummus, oriental tabbouleh, Moroccan tajine, etc.
In fact, even though this is a predominantly Muslim country, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted. So, if you’re looking to party in Dubai, I’d really advise you to look for accommodation in Media City. Finally, you can also choose this district to take advantage of the many music festivals that take place there.

Staying near Dubai, for greater tranquillity
I’ll end this round-up of the best areas of Dubai with the desert of the City of Gold. This area is particularly suited to people who want to escape the noisy atmosphere of the city. It’s worth noting that there are a host of fun activities on offer in the desert. In fact, I recommend that you go there to relax in the spas offered by a number of hotels in the area. Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa is one of them. In addition, living in Dubai’s desert gives you a chance to reconnect with nature, and wildlife in particular. You’ll be able to admire the beauty of the camels, the falcons and the oryx. Finally, you can choose to set down your suitcases in the Dubai desert because of the incredible golf courses that can be found there.
Other practical information on where to stay in Dubai
Finally, I’d like to give you a few practical tips on how to get around Dubai. First of all, you can choose to travel on foot, especially when the weather is milder. Then I’d also advise you to opt for public transport. For the metro, you only have to pay an average of €2. No cards are required for buses. This is ideal for people not planning to stay too long in Dubai. Finally, you can either hire a taxi (5 euros on average) or a car.
So, Dubai is a city made up of extraordinary neighbourhoods that are great places to stay. However, it’s not always easy to find accommodation that suits your budget. But by following my advice, you’ll be able to find accommodation in Dubai that meets all your expectations. I hope that my selection of the best areas in Dubai will make your task easier, and please don’t hesitate to leave me a comment.
