Where to sleep in Naples for the first time? The historic centre
The Centro Storico lives up to its name: in fact, this area steeped in history has managed to preserved precious historic buildings that have earned it the title of World uNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995.
Its cobbled streets, with their medieval architecture, are home to over 300 places of interest that anyone visiting Naples must see (at least some of them!) if they are to fall in love with Italy. What’s more, it’s Europe’s largest historic centre.
This district of Naples is perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it easy to get to any other district.
What’s more, as you stroll through its narrow streets, you’ll discover all kinds of shops and restaurants, where you can sample the best Italian cuisine.
It’s an area I’d strongly advise you to stay in during your stay in Naples, because of its proximity to the city’s main attractions.

Chiaia: the chic district of Naples
Chiaia is a chic district of Naples. Although it is a little further from the historic centre, it is considered to be the city’s most fashionable district.
Here, the streets are lined with Italian designer boutiques and art shops; it’s an area I’d recommend staying in if you’re a fashionista who likes places to see and be seen.
Of course, a cool cool neighbourhood doesn’t come without trendy cafés and restaurants. In Chiaia, traditional cafés and pizzerias often have a more upmarket feel to them, in order to satisfy the local to satisfy the local clientele.
Chiaia, thanks to its location away from the main hustle and bustle of the city, also offers a good alternative that I suggest you consider if you’re looking for some peace and quiet and a quiet place to stay. Whatever your itinerary in Naples, this is a good place to start.

The Piazza del Plebiscito (and all that surrounds it) contains a large part of the history of Naples.
Strolling through this area, you can see ancient monuments such as the Royal Palace, the Basilica of San Francisco de Paula, the Palazzo della Prefettura and the Palazzo di Salerno, representative of the city’s past.
The area is also the venue for numerous cultural events such as concerts, recitals and live television broadcasts, making it a meeting point for many locals and visiting tourists.
The square is located in the south of Naples and is one of the most visited in Italy. Also, the lively nightlife and carnival atmosphere in the area make Piazza del Plebiscito the area of Naples I would also happily recommend you consider for your stay in the city, as there is always something to do and see within its perimeter.

This area to the south of Naples has been popular with wealthy residents ever since the rich Romans began building their villas here.
This tradition has been perpetuated down the ages, making Posillipo an affluent residential area that is considerably quieter than the rest of the city. The Italian President even has a holiday resort here, known as Villa Rosebery.
It’s a quieter area that I highly recommend for anyone who doesn’t want to be bothered by the hustle and bustle of the city centre.
It’s also a great place to stay in summer, with beautiful rocky beaches such as Marechiaro, and La Gaiola, a protected underwater archaeological area where you can snorkel and see ancient Roman ruins at the bottom of the sea.

Spagnoli
“Quartieri Spagnoli” means the Spanish Quarter: the place takes its name from the Spanish garrisons that were stationed there in the 16th century to put down insurrections by the local population.
More recently, the Quartieri Spagnoli used to be plagued by crime and prostitution, which have now almost completely disappeared.
Today, Spagnoli is a very popular part of the popular area of the city centre, and offers a number of relatively at a relatively reasonable price; it’s a place where I’d recommend i’d advise you to stay there if you don’t intend to break the bank you don’t want to break the bank on hotel bills.
The area is full of sights, such as Castel Nuovo, one of the city’s major monuments: dating back to medieval times, this castle has 5 circular towers and a triumphal arch.
It’s an attraction I’d highly recommend, as you can go inside the castle and admire the beautiful architecture while enjoying a breathtaking view of the city from the top of the ramparts!

The port of Naples
The port of Naples is located to the south of the Centro Storico, and is one of the busiest ports in Europe and the Mediterranean.
This is where most of Naples’ commercial activity takes place: I recommend a stroll around the port, where you’ll find plenty of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy delicious food and cocktails.
The port of Naples also offers you the chance to sail on a cruise ship or ferry to other ferries to other parts of the Mediterranean, so this is a good accommodation accommodation option that I suggest you consider if you are planning to follow a maritime a sea route.
By staying in the port area you may lose some of the charm of the city, but you can get a room with a sea view.
There’s a selection of mid-range options near the Piazza Municipio itself, with some more expensive offerings near the waterfront.
Things to do and see in the area:
– a maritime escapade cruise ship, or by ferry altogether
– castel Nuovo
– restaurants and bars
– the Piazza Municipio
– religious heritage
